3. How do I volunteer to coach?
If you’re interested in coaching this season, please fill out this online form with your information and practice preferences. Fall 2026 Coaching Interest Form. Once complete, we’ll follow up with all the details you’ll need for the season. You can also check out our FAQs for coaches below!
4. How are practice schedules determined?
Practice times, days, and locations are based on the availability and preferences of each team’s volunteer coach(es). Requests for your child to practice on a specific day may result in your child being separated from their classmates or friend requests.
5. How often do we practice?
Each team is given one 1-hour time slot per week to practice. Changes/cancellations will be determined and communicated by your coach.
6. What should we bring to practice?
Players are required to wear shin guards covered fully by socks. Soccer cleats are highly recommended. Players should also bring a water bottle and soccer ball to all practices and games. (Size 3 for K-1st grade, Size 4 for 2nd-6th grade, Size 5 for 7th & up).
7. How are teams decided?
We look to place participants on a team with others from their school and do our best to honor friendship requests as well. Rosters are typically rolled over from previous seasons.
8. When and where are the games?
The game schedule will go live at Arlington Heights Park District - TeamSideline no later than the end of day on August 21st.
Most games are played on Saturday morning or early afternoon, starting no earlier than 9am. Sunday games may be added depending on the number of teams in a given division and will start no earlier than 11am. Teams may have bye weeks or double-header weekends. See Key Practice and Game Locations above for field directions and information.
9. How do we get our player jerseys?
Players may wear the same jersey year after year. Any player who needs a new jersey may buy one for $20 at Pioneer Park’s front desk during their business hours. Jerseys requested/purchased at the time of registration will be distributed by each team’s coaches at the first practice of the season.
10. Will my practice or game be cancelled due to bad weather?
Most importantly, please be patient. ALWAYS assume everything is still on unless you’ve heard otherwise. Practice cancellations are at the coach’s discretion, and game cancellations must be decided by the park district or the referees. While cancellations will be communicated in as timely a fashion as possible, we cannot guarantee advanced notice. Save the weekend of October 24th-25th for make-up games.
Note: Soccer is played in the rain, wind, and cold. Only lightning and extreme, dangerous weather will warrant cancellations.
11. Cancellation protocol: How will I know about a cancellation?
Advanced notice cancellations will be communicated by your coach. Immediate cancellations with little to no notice will be communicated through our automated email system in TeamSideline and via online alert site Rainout Line - Extensions.
12. I’ve changed my mind about this season. How do I get a refund?
All withdrawals are managed via the Refund Request Form on the Arlington Heights Park District website. Please note that refunds incur a $5 processing fee, and can take up to 10 days to be fully processed and returned. Refunds will not be issued once the season has started.
13. I missed the registration deadline and now I’m on the waitlist. What does that mean?
All players registered after the deadline will be automatically placed on our waitlist. Waitlisters will be offered spots on teams that have availability following initial team formations. Our goal is to find roster spots for as many waitlisted participants as possible. However, we cannot guarantee team or friend requests for waitlist registrants. You will not be charged for the program until after you’ve been placed on a team.
